Chapter 1.3. New beginnings-New places

The two kept chanting each other’s names as we made our way into the compound. the whole house was now in view with 3 cars, a swimming pool and play ground. I thought to myself “This better be the place I will be staying”. Knowing Nana she could parade me around Accra greeting one friend here, a class mate there and a relative somewhere else only for us to end up sleeping under one “apata”. As this thought ran through my mind, i found myself reminiscing one of nanas usual advice “all that glitters is not Gold”. Before I knew it, I was saying out loud, “what if this one is gold?”. “Ohemaa, what’s the matter?” Nana asked; as I thought of a lie to get out of being probed by Nana, the glass door in front of us slid open, revealing a beautiful young lady in a beautiful knee-lengthen turquoise blue dress that complimented her eyes. She was an obroni with a round face and extremely pointed nose and when she smiled at me I could see the resemblance between, she and Ekow, the little boy Nana was still carrying on her hip. “You must be Ohemaa” she said with a funny accent. I nodded and responded “I am” simultaneously as she gestured at Nana and I to make our way into the house.
