Even if I did, it was only going to be to visit and nothing long-term. I cannot pretend I didn’t see something of the sort coming. I knew I was going to be staying in Accra, but I thought it was only going to be for school and then back to Nana at Asempa. I was a bit heartbroken at the thought of not seeing my friends for so long, and OH, Kojo! I was going to lose him to the village girls. Later that night, Florence saw me shedding a few tears in the kitchen and approached me. After sharing with her the sadness I felt, imagining not seeing my friends for such a long time, she assured me I was going to unite with them once again and that the decision to stay with her family in Accra was a brilliant one. She said I was going to be groomed to be an important person in society, and my impact was going to be loud, so loud that even if my friends were to move from Asempa, they were going to easily locate me because of how well-known I was going to be.
