Oh yes! I thought to myself, that’s the TV I see in those movies. The floors looked so clear that one could see their face by just looking down. The room was huge and the lights were not like those in Obaa Connes center, there were many, hanging side by side to form some form of cone shape, and they hung way up the roof of the building. I wondered how the bulbs got changed. Would they have to buy a new set? What a waste of money that would be. “Ferme la bouche, Antoine”, the obroni said sternly to little Ekow, who kept Nana occupied with pointless conversation. Whatever Obroni said got Ekow, who is also called Antoine, to keep quiet while seated on Nana’s lap with teary eyes that pierced into Nana’s loving ones. It turned out Obroni is married to Nana’s elder brothers first son, making him my uncle. We didn’t see much of him back in Asempa because he was always traveling, and at the time he visited, I was already going to school. Another thing Nana may not have considered in her decision to move me to Accra. I have just gained admission to Asempa Secondary school and in Shs 1. I have just finished my first term. Come to think of it, what would people say if I did not return to school the next term?
