i walked into the kitchen after the two had gone silent for a while. “Sika, my dear, do you need anything?” Diana asked as i made my way towards the kitchen island. “No, Dee. I just came for water” I said as i got off the stool too get it. “Oh dear, just sit, I will get it for you.” She jumped in front with her arms stretched towards me signalling that i wait as she slowly backed away to pick it from the fridge. “Why don’t you want me to get it myself?” I asked with a smile on my face but anger in my tone. “Oh dear, I dont want you to stress while i am here. My sole purpose is to serve you, you know, and make sure you have all you need.” she retorted with a clap as though she was singing. “I see” I responded as i took the bottle of water; thanking her i turned around to leave the kitchen. “Madam, dont you need anything else?” Amuzu asked. “No, I don’t, thank you too” I responded as i made my way out of the kitchen.
The rest of the day played out just like our sunday brunches did, feasting, drinking, banters and a few harmless arguements. We had a good time as well. What threw me off however was seeing Dee and Amuzu praise Aunty Fafa and thanking her for the money she gave to thank them for their services as she got ready to leave. i felt even more confused. Is she not teh Fafa they spoke ill of this morning or was i hallucinating?
“My Jewel” Aunty Fafa yelled snapping me out of my thought. “What is it that has got you lost in your thoughts?” She asked with worry in her tone and voice.
